Backpacking the Art Loeb Trail

May 7, 2018 @ 6:00 am - May 11, 2018 @ 5:00 pm

$300.00

Join Hike It Florida while we backpack the iconic Art Loeb Trail. Traveling mainly along peaks and ridges the trail offers many views along the way to its lofty high points. It skirts along the southwestern rim of the Davidson River valley, then skips across some of the highest peaks in the Black Balsam area before descending Cold Mountain to the Daniel Boone Scout Camp. It takes the hiker to some of the finest scenery to be found in Pisgah, and you’ll view or cross many of the landmark mountains in the region.

We will be hiking North to South from the Northern Terminus at Boy Scout Camp Daniel Boone to the Southern Terminus at Davidson River. This is considered an intermediate to difficult hike due to the elevation change however the views from those elevations will be worth the pain and agony. Throughout this trip we plan to hike 10-12 miles a day through the woods while spending each night out under the stars. Each hiker is responsible for all of their own gear that they would need throughout the trip. Check out our suggested gear list.

The cost of the trip is $300.00 and includes all transportation from Florida* to and from the trail, all shuttles throughout the hike and lodging throughout the trip. A $100.00 deposit is required to hold your spot.

*transportation will be arraigned along the I-75 corridor prior to the trip commencing.
