Calling all kids (and parents), we are hosting a kid friendly, short (2 miles) nature hike at Myakka River State Park.

This hike is geared towards hikers with little legs (elementary age). We will be hiking slowly and stopping often to explore the local wildlife and plant life within the park. This is a back-country trail that has some uneven terrain and narrow paths.

**Park admission is not included in the guided hike fee. The park entrance fees are as follows: $4 per car with a single occupant or $6 per car with 2 – 8 occupants. Carpooling or use of State Park Annual Passes is encouraged!**

You must sign up for this event in advance and bring the ticket that is emailed upon registration. The group will be meeting at the canopy walk and nature trail parking lot on the main park drive up the road from the bridge on the right. There are NO bathrooms or water near the parking lot.

Myakka River State Park is located 9 miles East of I-75 on SR 72 (exit 205), park entrance is on the left.

Here is a suggested list of items to bring:

Change of shoes for after the hike (in case of water or mud on the trail)
Drinking water in reusable bottle or hydration pack
Sturdy hiking shoes, preferably hiking boots
Bug spray recommended
