Early Morning Hike at Alderman’s Ford Preserve

Join us on an early morning hike at Alderman’s Ford Preserve. This extensive corridor of natural lands – more than 10,000 acres worth east of Tampa – protecting the flow of the Alafia River. The Alafia River flows over limestone boulders as it winds through a deeply eroded channel, forming noisy, churning stretches of hydraulics that are mesmerizing to hear and watch. With open fields for birding and ancient live oaks in the dense river bluff forest this is a hike that you will never forget.
This is a great 4-mile hike that will take you through large oak canopy’s, Pine flatlands and along the Alafia River. Our guide will be pointing out the Flora and Fauna of the area along the way. This is a great area of Florida for bird watching and locating other native wildlife.
This cost of this hike is $10.00 per person
There are NO restrooms or running water in the area. Please plan accordingly.
This is a back-country trail that has some uneven terrain and narrow paths.
You must sign up for this event in advance and bring the ticket that is emailed upon registration.
We will be meeting in parking area at 8:00am. Please plan to arrive on time so the group can depart as close to 8:00 as possible.

If you are signing on behalf of a minor, you further agree to HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY Hike It Florida and its employees, members, agents, and or volunteers from all liability, claims and causes of action which the minor may have arising from the minor’s participation in activities. The terms of this agreement shall serve as a release and indemnity agreement for your heirs, personal representative, and for all members of your family, including any minors. (Parents or legal guardians must sign for all persons under eighteen (18) years of age.
