Children’s Spring Day Camp – Mini Camp
March 12 @ 8:00 am - March 13 @ 5:30 pm$100.00
Who’s ready for an exciting, fun-filled couple days? The children are out of school prior to spring break, but we have a place for them to go and stay active!
This will be a fun-filled few days spent at Myakka River State Park! The campers will spend the days exploring all corners or the park while learning about the plants and animals that make Florida unique. We will be hiking, animal watching, and enjoying nature all while learning and practicing Leave No Trace. This camp is for ages 5-11 years of age.
what our days will look like
8:00 – 9:00 am: Camper Drop-Off & Choice Time – Twin Lakes Park
During this rolling drop-off time, campers are welcomed by their counselors and encouraged to join an active group game. Campers may also choose to catch insects, experiment with nature art, or simply hang out with friends.
9:00 – 9:15 am: drive to myakka river state park
9:15 – 9:30 am: Opening Circle
This daily tradition brings the whole camp community together to participate in a group activity, and share the day’s announcements and other fun tidbits of information!

Much of the morning is spent along the trail exploring various habitats and topics related to the day’s theme. This may include activities such as searching for animal tracks, using sweep nets to catch insects, observing birds with binoculars, spending some time reading stories, work on art projects, or play games. Snacks will be available.

Campers eat lunch and enjoy unstructured free play.

Another camp tradition, Closing Circle, brings the camp together to reflect on the day’s activities. Campers and counselors are welcomed to share their favorite parts of the day, providing an opportunity for all voices to be respectfully heard. Snacks will be available.
